The theatre group Linguni consists of 15 men & women in between 20 and 50 years old with the objective promotion of education by means of theatre performances to help young people to learn and understand essential life education and formal school education. Different topics e.g. HIV prevention, environment questions, human rights, community income development can be effectively made accessible to young pupils in an easy vivid and learning way.

Since 2015 EKARI is collaborating with Linguni offering successfully performances for “Adult Literacy Classes” being assigned for adults and comprising life topics e.g. Pregnancy, Strenghening marriages, sexuality (FGM), developing relationships (violence), health education / HIV prevention, importance of education. Since September 2015 EKARI does cooperate with primary schools providing lessons and education with the a.m. topics.

From September 2015 to October 2016 Linguni visited 19 Primary Schools and they provided lessons and education to more than 32.000 pupils, 1000 adults, 72 chiefs, different mother groups and local community classes and meetings.

A 3 hour lasting theatre session (interactive communication) being offered in Primary Schools will be performed by 3 actors in general (1 EKARI school student, 1 nurse from a local hospital and the EKARI Director). The EKARI Director Elias in his speech does point out the importance of school education encouraging them to go to school and to make them understand that education is worth for their future. The nurse takes care of health questions and lessons in terms of sexuality, pregnancy, HIV, etc. Apart from pupils, adults, teachers, municipal workers and executive staff members do join the performances as well as guests to effect and reinforce the education lessons sustainably.

The Dieter and Bettina Wulkow Foundation does recognize a sustainable efficiency in this way by making accessible education to pupils and young people by theatre performances and sketches. We are ambitious to sponsorship this project with our own contribution and will start a fund raising activity and will be glad to find donors and get third party contributions. EKARI Deutschland e.V. does support us by providing detailed project information and photos which we may use for our website and fund raising activity.
