We recently received a request from Mrs. Karen Hees, youth coordinator of TCO Frohnhausen, regarding the promotion of youth work; we spoke with Mrs. Hees about it.
According to Ms. Hees, the youth work of our club aims to promote young people in their personal, athletic, and social development. The focus is on fostering team spirit, fairness, a sense of responsibility, mutual respect, integration, and inclusion by enabling all young people to participate, regardless of their background, gender, or ability level.
Our programs are aimed at children and young people aged 4-17 and include regular training and leisure activities, excursions, and opportunities to participate in competitions. In addition to athletic training, we foster shared experiences that strengthen the sense of belonging and motivate active participation in club life. This also improves leisure time, which elsewhere is often spent excessively on mobile phones or influenced and confronted by negative things.
Ms. Hees continually motivates her children and teenagers, conveying to them whats important to her so that everyone can enjoy themselves so much in the group.
We currently look after 31 children and teenagers in various age groups, says Karen Hees. Thats exceptional and exemplary for a small club like the TCO.
Karen Hees emphasized that more and more children want to participate and is happy to support that. However, the club has reached the limits of its funding opportunities.
The funds are no longer sufficient for the costly indoor training in summer and winter, the coaching, the sometimes free provision of rackets and balls, as well as for social activities.
We are happy to support the work of youth coordinator Karen Hees and would like to make a sustainable contribution to the positive development of children and young people and to the future of the club.
