The Dieter & Bettina Wulkow Foundation again in this year has supported the youth work of young musicians of the JSOW by a gratuity of 350.00 Euro.

Since 1987 the amateur orchestra plays music  and targeting to bring classic music closer to young people. Yearly about 60 younger musicians play a series of concerts, which will be rehearsed together and performed perfectly to the delight of many listeners. Classic orchestral works but also romantic and modern compositions are in their repertoire as well as film-, musicals and churchly music.

The mix of studied musicians, routine amateurs and young aspiring talents mirror the ideal formation of the Young Symphony Orchestra Wetzlar.

Normally the performances of the JSOW for the listeners are free of charge but the orchestra is dependent on donations to cover their expenses and to haul the younger musicians.

With the overture to Coriolan op. 62 of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827),  concert no. 1, d-moll for Oboe und orchestra of Ludwig August Lebrun (1752-1790) and the symphony  no. 104, D-Dur of Franz Josef Hayden (1732-1809) the musicians delighted the audience on the evening of March 19th 2023 in their performance in the City Hall of Wetzlar.
