Funding Project 04/2026 Wetzlar Youth Symphony Orchestra (JSOW)

Once again this year, the Dieter & Bettina Wulkow Foundation has supported the youth-oriented musical activities of the JSOW with a grant of €300.00.

Active since 1987, this amateur orchestra aims to introduce young people to classical music. Each year, its approximately 60 musicians—most of whom are young—perform a series of concerts. These are prepared through many hours of joint rehearsal and performed with a level of perfection that delights the large audiences. The repertoire includes classical, Romantic, and modern orchestral works, as well as film scores, musicals, and sacred music.

The mix of professionally trained musicians, experienced amateurs, and up-and-coming young talents reflects the ideal composition of the Youth Symphony Orchestra Wetzlar.

As a rule, JSOW performances are free for the audience. However, the orchestra relies on donations to cover its running costs and support the development of its young musicians.
