Funding Project 01/2026: Waldfriede Hospital, Berlin

Support for medical aid and educational outreach for girls affected by genital mutilation in Africa.

Our foundation has repeatedly supported the Desert Flower Center at Waldfriede Hospital in Berlin in its educational and treatment work for young girls and women who have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM).

Waldfriede Hospital, Berlin, is an academic teaching hospital affiliated with Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and a European training center for surgical techniques in coloproctology. It is a specialist clinic for medical treatment—including conditions of the lower abdomen and pelvic floor surgery—and is actively engaged in providing on-the-ground educational outreach and medical aid to girls and young women affected by genital mutilation in several African countries. We are supporting the work of the doctors and medical staff with a grant of €1,250.
