A few days ago, we received a positive report from project manager Christine Schulze of Celebrate Hope Germany, our Ugandan project partner. The first phase of the planned expansion for a girls class at Insula Christian High School in Kakuuto-Kyotera district, Uganda, has been successfully completed. We are pleased that we were able to financially launch the project with our foundation and our co-sponsors. Here is the report Christine Schulze sent us. She writes:
I am pleased to announce that the construction of the new girls dormitory at Insula Christian High School is now complete, and the children have moved into the new building. The building was completed at the end of Marchbeginning of April, and I received the principals final report last weekend, which I am forwarding to you.
In summary, I can say that, from our perspective, the construction work and the implementation went very smoothly. Thankfully, the necessary donations and funds gradually arrived, and the cost estimates from the Ugandan side were also implemented very well (detailed information can be found in the PDF report).
There is also some good news from Uganda, and I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the school project. At the beginning of the year, the Insula principal, Mr. Henry Kigudde, informed me that the following concerns and goals had been formulated for 2025:
The principal of Insula Christian High School himself comes from a humble and impoverished background. Since education is the most important factor in lifting people out of poverty, he has set himself the goal of admitting children from the poorest families to his school and giving them the opportunity to gain access to jobs and, in the best case, even to university through education. For this reason, tuition fees at Insula Christian High School are relatively low compared to other secondary schools. This means that the school can barely build up reserves for structural maintenance.
Next, we would like to renovate the schools sanitary facilities and plan to build another classroom. We also want to push for the construction of the library. We urgently need support for both of these projects, and we would be very grateful if you could support us again through a cooperative venture.
